Simulating Combined Cycle and Gas Turbine Power Plant under Design Condition using Open-Source Software DWSIM

Nowadays, clean and high-power generation is essential matters worldwide. To be improved optimized, power plants require accurate models that can introduced to process simulators. There various commercial software for industrial simulation which not accessible everyone. The open-source DWSIM simulator the first chemical engineering code offers many tools better study of plants. In this paper, we employ simulate a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plant under design conditions three cases. generic are predicted multistage compressors compressor maps. case, two developed in ASPEN HYSYS GateCycle will considered. achieved results by acceptably comparable thermal efficiency generation. result 3.5% lower than efficiency, completely same. second rigorous was carried out using actual field data from local CCGT plant. outcomes very close practical data. GT CC close; variety nearly 0.45%. third with cogeneration system precisely accomplished, shown excellent agreement. prediction shows values 0.26%, 4.79%, 0.72% HP turbine, LP net power, respectively.
